Support Services

New Early Help services for parents and families have started across Barking and Dagenham. Find out about services that are local to you and some that will come to where you want to meet them.

Family Hub Early Help Consortium​

Life with a new-born baby brings many changes and challenges. It’s normal to find it hard to deal with them, on top of the normal issues of daily life.  Family Hub Early Help Consortium supports families in the home or wherever they feel safe and comfortable.

Family Hub Early Help Consortium are:

  • Sycamore Trust
  • Safe Families
  • So, He Cares

This includes support with parenting, perinatal mental health and better understanding your child’s needs.

The Kids Bank HQ

The Kids Bank HQ provide families with everything they could need for their children aged 0-12 years. They receive thousands of donations on a weekly basis. These pre-loved children’s items are then passed on to our referred families in need.  The Kids Bank HQ have a huge stock of clothing, nappies, wipes, milk, toys, books, buggies, cots, hygiene items, and sanitary products.

The Source have launched the brand-new Baby Bank at the Barking Learning Centre Community and Family Hub.

 Currently, the baby bank is only able to help families with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) from the West area. If you know a family in need, please email us at familynavigators@lbbd.gov.uk.

Family Mediation Voucher Scheme

The family mediation voucher scheme is a time-limited scheme, designed to support parties who may be able to resolve their family law disputes outside of court.

Court Help LTD (CHL)

Offers legal support services on Child Law, Non-Molestation Orders & Appeals. CHL offers a range of specialist Family Law paralegal services at prices lower than most Solicitors & Barristers. We do NOT offer Legal Aid.
The Hive

The Hive

The Hive has been run by women for women. Empowerment of women, particularly those most marginalized and vulnerable, is at the heart of all that it does. The Hive runs activities include Mindful Movements, Mothers and Toddlers Support Groups, Archery Club and Parenting Courses and much more.

We at the Youth Justice Service are here to support you through those challenging times when you may need us the most. Staff are skilled and experienced in working with parents and young people .
