Safeguarding

Safeguarding is about protecting children and adults at risk of harm. If you’re worried about anyone’s safety, whether it’s your own child, someone else’s child or a vulnerable adult, please say something.

 

Safeguarding children

Child abuse includes a child being harmed by an adult or another child. It can happen once or over a period of time It can be physical, sexual or emotional. It can happen in person or online. It can also be a lack of love, care and attention – this is neglect.

NSPCC

NSPCC offers support and information for anyone worried about a child.  You can also call them for more information on 0800 800 5000.

Safeguarding adults

Adults who are vulnerable need safeguarding. They may be unable to protect themselves from violence due to their age, disability, or illness.


If you are worried about an adult’s safety, here are some ways to get them help.
