Digital Inclusion Zone
We want to help as many people as possible to use technology. The Digital Inclusion Zones at Barking Learning Centre and Dagenham Library are spaces with accessible equipment, accessible hardware, software, adjustable furniture and trained digital champions to help people with disabilities and those who need more support to get online.
The Digital Inclusion Zones have been created with The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Sensory Team, The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB, Good Things Foundation and LBBD residents. Each Digital Inclusion Zone offers:
accessible software: JAWS – Screen reader; Zoom text – Screen magnifier / Reader; Azabat – Touch typing tutor with audio instruction, Microsoft Word; Excel and PowerPoint Presentation
accessible hardware: large screen and full HD monitor, high contrast keyboards, mouse with customised dots per inch (DPI), noise cancelling headphones, webcams, flexible monitor arm, Optelec ClearReader+ portable image reader, tablets, scanners and closed-circuit television (CCTV) magnifiers
adjustable furniture: desks and chairs
free data from National Databank to use on own devices.

accessible library services: audio books, books in Braille, large print, e-books, Reading Well books on Prescription and other online resources.
inclusive services for people with sight impairment, hearing impairment, learning difficulties, neuro-divergency and mental health, plus partners to provide specialist help.
