On 27 February 2025, the Thrive Together – Better Health for You and Your Baby brought together 700 people at the BLC, creating a vibrant hub of support for women and their families. The event, designed to empower new and expectant mothers—as well as those planning their pregnancy journey—featured an extensive range of services and expert-led sessions.

From fertility and maternity care to children’s health, mental well-being, and social support, the day showcased a truly integrated approach to maternal care like never before. Attendees had direct access to midwives, health visitors, consultants, sexual health teams, cancer specialists, pharmacists, and GPs, who provided immediate consultations and treatments. GP federations and local surgeries also offered children’s vaccinations and flu shots, ensuring families received comprehensive care.

Beyond medical support, local authority representatives provided guidance on legal matters, housing, family activities, stop-smoking resources, and social prescribing. Charities and community groups enriched the experience further, offering activities for children, massages, and delicious hot meals from The Source.

The atmosphere was one of collaboration and learning, breaking down barriers to healthcare with no forms, no bureaucracy—just one united team working together. So many issues were addressed, and invaluable insights were gained, proving that maternal health thrives best when communities come together.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event a success!
